Born at Institut Musical de Formation Professionnelle (IMFP School) near Marseille, France, Da Goum Projekt is an 8-piece music group that brilliantly combine the rhythms and sounds of the Maghreb with reggae culture, ethno-jazz and Afrobeat. The lyrics and compositions are inspired by the experience of the Arab Spring and the popular revolt of the Tunisian youth in 2011 that lived from inside Mehdi, Tunisian and composer of the group.
Their first EP “GOUM” (which means “Get up!” in Tunisian ) is a musical journey without a visa, both calm and restless, hovering and striking, simple and complex, carrying the public on the shores of the sea, the Mediterranean Sea that connects Tunis to Marseille.
